ResinDek® 7-Year Product Warranty

Cornerstone Specialty Wood Products, LLC™ (CSWP) hereby warrants all of its ResinDek® panels to be free from defect, structurally sound, and able to safely carry the specified design loads as specified. At its option, CSWP will either replace or make a reasonable allowance for repair to all ResinDek Panels found to be defective for a period of seven (7) years from date of shipment to the jobsite.

Qualifications to this warranty are as follows:

1. All panels must be installed in accordance with ResinDek Installation Instructions.

2. All panels must be properly unloaded, protected and stored prior to their installation. Care shall be taken to protect the panels from excessive moisture before, during, and after installation.

3. ResinDek® XLD50, LD50, LD, MD, HD & ResinDek® Max panels must be installed with only CSWP approved fasteners over the gauge and type of corrugated metal decking for the load on the floor as approved by CSWP.

4. ResinDek Xspan™ must be supported at intervals approved by CSWP with structural supports capable of withstanding loads imposed. Fastener number, pattern and type must be approved by CSWP.

5. Do Not Exceed the (live and dead load) pallet jack loads as follows per specified panel:

  • ResinDek® XLD50 1,250 lbs. max.
  • ResinDek® LD50 2,000 lbs. max.
  • ResinDek® LD 2,000 lbs. max.
  • ResinDek® MD 3,000 lbs. max.
  • ResinDek® HD 4,500 lbs. max.
  • ResinDek® MAX 8,000 lbs. max.

CSWP recommended loads as stated on Xspan® specifications.

6. Allowable loads are based on testing conducted by CSWP with 36” o.c. spans on ResinDek® XLD50, LD50, LD, MD, HD, & ResinDek® Max. Longer spans may reduce load carrying capacities. Refer to ResinDek® Xspan® literature for allowable point loads, uniform loads, & live and dead pallet jack loads for ResinDek Xspan®.

7. CSWP must be notified in the event of a problem with any of its materials, and given a minimum of two weeks notice to correct the problem on its own, and/or personally visit the site if necessary, prior to repairs and remedies by others.

8. There will be no warranty coverage for acts of God, exposure to weather, or for impact or concentrated loads.

9. This warranty will be considered void in the event of prolonged exposure to standing water on the ResinDek panels.

10. There will be no warranty coverage for acts of negligence by the installer, the customer, or the end user.

11. This warranty is between CSWP and its customer. Warranty will flow through to the end user for the entire period of this warranty.

ResinDek® Installation Instructions

Please review (pdf) "Common Installation Mistakes
that can Void your 7-year Warranty"

Installation, Care & Maintenance1. ResinDek® should be installed over corrugated metal B-decking or an existing mezzanine floor surface. ResinDek is not intended for exterior applications. RESINDEK PRODUCTS NOT INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS WILL VOID ALL WARRANTIES.

2. ResinDek® panels must be kept dry in transit, storage, during and after installation. Panels should be stored flat in a level position.

3. ResinDek® Installation Process:

  • Begin installation by setting a true line with a laser or transit less than 48" from one edge of mezzanine.
  • Leave a 3/8" gap/space on outer edges of ResinDek, and leave 1/8" gap/space between ResinDek panels. Trim the last row of panels to allow for the 3/8" gap/space on outer edges of ResinDek perimeter.
  • Panel spacers are included in ResinDek installation kits or attached to each unit of ResinDek. Insert metal spacers (2 along one long edge, 1 along a short edge) between all adjacent panels. FAILURE TO USE METAL PANEL SPACERS MAY ALLOW FLOOR TO BUCKLE AND WILL VOID ALL WARRANTIES.
  • Figure A Fastener PatternAttach panels to corrugated metal B-deck or other approved subflooring using a minimum of 20 fasteners per 4' x 8' sheet. (See figure A) For best results, use ResinDek screws furnished by Cornerstone Specialty Wood Products. Fasteners should be located a minimum of 1" from tongue and groove edges and from square edges. Remove metal panel spacers and insert between next panels.
  • Be sure that panels are installed with the correct face on top. When correctly laid, the arrow on the square edge of the panel should point up and panels should have a space of a metal panel spacer's width around the perimeter of each ResinDek panel, and about 1/4" on the underside of the tongue and groove. The gap/space will always be larger on the underside.

                                                                                                   Figure A Fastener Pattern

  • Stagger panels so that joints break on different ribs wherever possible.
  •  ResinDek can be installed with the long direction parallel or perpendicular to the corrugated metal B-deck. All panel joints should break on ribs. 6" wide x 20 gauge minimum steel shims must be used when ResinDek breaks on a valley. (See figure B)
  • Fasteners must be long enough to penetrate both the ResinDek and the subfloor. Secure each panel with a minimum of four fasteners before installing the next panel. Use only screw guns with a nose clutch to countersink screw heads. DRIVE FASTENERS SO THAT THE COUNTERSUNK HEAD IS JUST BELOW THE PANEL SURFACE.
  • ResinDek can be trimmed to size with ordinary power saws. Use carbide tipped blades for best results.
  • 3/8" perimeter gaps/space can be hidden with toe strips or kick plates.

4. ResinDek® Pallet Load Recommendations (pallet jack and load)

Do Not Exceed the (live and dead load) weights as follows per specified panel:

  • ResinDek® XLD50 1,250 lbs. maximum
  • ResinDek® LD50 2,000 lbs. maximum
  • ResinDek® LD 2,000 lbs. maximum
  • ResinDek® MD 3,000 lbs. maximum
  • ResinDek® HD 4,500 lbs. maximum
  • ResinDek® MAX 8,000 lbs. maximum

Substructures must be capable of supporting the above loads. Failure of substructure may result in local failure of ResinDek. Use 20 gauge or heavier corrugated metal B-deck for substructure. 18 gauge is recommended for 2,500 lb. Loads or greater.

WARNING: UNDER CONDITIONS OF EXTREME HUMIDITY, ResinDek® MAY BE PRONE TO LINEAR EXPANSION.

6

Figure B When ResinDek breaks on a valley use 6" wide 20 Ga. min steel shims. Avoid using wood blocks which may cause panel joints to become uneven.

ResinDek® Care & Maintenance

While a ResinDek® floor provides long-lasting durability, safety and cleanability, it must be properly installed and maintained to avoid costly floor problems, repairs and hazards that may potentially void all product warranties.

Whether your ResinDek® floor finish is Clear Diamond Seal®, Gray Diamond Seal® or ESD, the surface can be easily cleaned using a damp mop or standard cleaning solvents without fear of damaging the surface. Cleaning solutions that have worked particularly well include water, diluted isopropyl alcohol, and many off the shelf detergents and floor cleaners. Never use methylene chloride or paint thinners, which will damage ResinDek finishes. Also avoid prolonged soaking, hosing down, or wetting of all ResinDek products.

ResinDek UF (unfinished) will clean up similar to other unfinished wood products.

* All cracks and holes should be investigated since these are primarily due to loads in excess of ResinDek® recommendations.

Excessive load damage to ResinDek® panels cannot always be repaired, and may need to be replaced. Please contact us and we will be happy to assist you in determining the cause of the panel damage and how best to repair it in accordance with the ResinDek® Product Warranty.
