ResinDek Products Receive Renewed SCS Certification of Environmental Sustainability

Kermit the Frog may have found it "not easy being green", but at Cornerstone Specialty Wood Products, sustainability has been a, well, cornerstone of our culture since our company's inception. Because our business relies on the manufacture of highly engineered products, we have specifically created processes that do not negatively affect the environment.

As part of our commitment to environmental stewardship — and as a means to verify our responsible use of the planet's natural resources — we annually submit our products for review and validation by SCS Global Services. SCS is a global leader in third-party quality, environmental, and sustainability verification, certification, auditing, testing, and standards development.

The organization recently awarded us renewed certifications for our comprehensive line of products. These certifications verify that the products conform to SCS' standards regarding the amount of recycled content included in their composition and as being formaldehyde-free.

They include:

• Minimum 85% Pre-Consumer Recycled Wood Content for ResinDek® flooring panels with a finish of Gray Diamond Seal®, Gray Diamond Seal® ESD Coating, or TriGard® (XLD50, LD50, LD, SD, MD, HD, MAX, XSPAN®) and for ResinDek® UF (XLD50, LD50, LD, SD, MD, HD, MAX, XSPAN)
• Minimum 76% Pre-Consumer Recycled Content with 73% Pre-Consumer Recycled Wood and 3% Pre-Consumer Recycled Steel Content for ResinDek® XSPAN® FR flooring panels with a finish of Gray Diamond Seal®, Gray Diamond Seal® ESD Coating, or TriGard®
• Minimum 66% Pre-Consumer Recycled Content with 59% Pre-Consumer Recycled Wood and 7% Pre-Consumer Recycled Steel Content for ResinDek® with MetaGard® flooring panels (LD, SD, MD, HD, MAX, XSPAN®)
• Minimum 85% Pre-Consumer Recycled Wood Content for ResinDek® Shelving (including XLD50, LD50)
• Validation of No Added Formaldehyde or Urea Formaldehyde in the composite wood used in the manufacture of ResinDek® with a finish of Gray Diamond Seal®, Gray Diamond Seal® ESD Coating, TriGard®, or MetaGard® (XLD50, LD50, LD, SD, MD, HD, MAX, XSPAN®, XSPAN® FR)

Certification by SCS demonstrates a proven commitment to sustainability through environmental stewardship, responsible resource management, and protection of people and communities.
