Replace Plywood Floors with ResinDek® Flooring Panels
Why Plywood Floors Are Not Ideal For Work Platforms
Unsmooth or Damaged Plywood Causing Issues in Your Warehouse?
Plywood is made from peeler logs. Thin layers are peeled from wood logs by rotating them along their horizontal axis. The sheets of veneer obtained from this process are cut to the desired dimensions, dried, patched, glued together, and then baked to form a plywood panel.
Depending on the grade of plywood, it may or may not be smooth and can pose many various risk factors in your warehouse:
- Plywood floors aren’t engineered to support robotic or rolling traffic
- Offers scant resistance to wear and will often split, crack & delaminate
- Is difficult to clean and maintain
- Prone to water damage and absorbs stains
- Worn plywood that has splinters & is cracked can create trip hazards
- Difficult to transport wheeled loads (carts, pallet jacks, dollies)
Further, plywood is frequently constructed with ureaformaldehyde and phenol-formaldehyde resin which are carcinogenic in very high concentration and could potentially have negative health effects on workers — including mild to moderate irritation of the eyes, nose, or throat.
ResinDek Panels Are A Great Alternative To Plywood: Replacing Plywood Floors With ResinDek For Work Platforms
To improve productivity and reduce the risk of potential harm to personnel, ResinDek panels can be installed over — or in-place-of — plywood flooring. Engineered to support the transport of rolling loads, including carts, dollies, pallet jacks, and robotic vehicles, ResinDek is a durable, engineered flooring surface that is easy to clean and maintain. It will never delaminate and comes in a variety of thicknesses, surface grades, finishes, and rated capacities to support pallet jack loads weighing from 2,000 to 8,000 pounds (910 to 3360 kgs).
Additionally, all ResinDek composite flooring has been certified as having no added formaldehyde and its installation can contribute toward LEED® projects. ResinDek Flooring panels are “Certified Recycled Content” through SCS Global Services due to the fact that it contains a minimum of 66% recycled content to 85% (depending upon the product) of pre-consumer recycled wood content.
All ResinDek flooring panels are engineered wood products backed by a 10-year product warranty.
