GRAY DIAMOND SEAL® ESD COATING

Electrostatic Dissipative Flooring FOR ESD WAREHOUSES AND DISTRIBUTION FACILITIES

Applications involving sensitive equipment, electronic components, or hazardous materials can experience damage or become dangerous should friction-generated triboelectric or static generated charges occur. In situations where foot traffic and employees maneuvering rolling dollies, carts, and pallet jacks might contribute to electrostatic buildup, ResinDek® engineered flooring panels can be coated with an electrostatic dissipative (ESD) finish: Gray Diamond Seal® ESD.

With Cornerstone Specialty Wood Products' Gray Diamond Seal ESD coating, your operation can be assured of controlled dissipation and grounding of friction-generated triboelectric charges. The finish also interrupts the direct pathways of statically generated charges.

By intentionally limiting the flow of electrical current and discharge to less than 50 volts, Gray Diamond Seal ESD helps to immensely eliminate the potential of accidental electrostatic discharge. This prevents damage to sensitive equipment and electronic components, as well as provides explosion protection in spaces where powders, gasses, or solvents are used.

Installing ESD flooring can provide effective protection while reducing downtime and increasing the efficiency of your operations.

Gray Diamond Seal ESD Coating Applications

ResinDek Gray Diamond Seal ESD Coating is designed for a variety of applications including:

  • Elevated warehouse platforms
  • Mezzanines
  • Pick Modules
  • Rack Supported Mezzanines
  • Conveyor and sortation platforms
  • Industrial, commercial, and manufacturing applications where controlling static electricity is paramount

THE OPTIMAL RESINDEK® SURFACE COATING FOR ELECTRO-SENSITIVE PRODUCTS AND APPLICATIONS

ResinDek panels coated with the Gray Diamond Seal ESD finish comply with the following ANSI/ESD Association specifications:

  • Resistive Characterization of Materials – Floor Materials: ANSI/ESD S7.1
  • Protection of Electrical and Electronic Parts, Assemblies and Equipment: ANSI/ESD S20.20
  • Floor Materials and Footwear – Resistance Measurement in Combination with a Person: ANSI/ESD STM97.1

Testing results:

  • Average point-to-point resistance = 6.6 x 106 ohms
  • Average point-to-ground resistance = 7.8 x 106 ohms
  • ResinDek engineered floor panels with the Gray Diamond Seal ESD finish generated less than 10 volts with static controlled footwear and experienced a rapid voltage decay from 5,000 volts to less than 50 volts in under 0.50 second.

At Cornerstone Specialty Wood Product, we also offer other optional flooring finishes for your facility. If you need help or have any questions about ResinDek Gray Diamond Seal ESD flooring installation, don't hesitate to reach out to our team.

Gray Diamond Seal ESD Coating: A Success Story

Legacy Platform, a systems integrator, has used ResinDek panels for a number of years, so when one of their customers was in need of electrostatic dissipative flooring, Legacy Platform recommended ResinDek without hesitation.

he client needed an ESD flooring solution for their 20,000 square-foot platform. Cornerstone Specialty Wood Products promptly provided a quote within one day. Considering the needs of the customer, they recommended Gray Diamond Seal ESD Coating, and despite project scope changes over the course of a few months, the project was successfully completed within a short period of time.

"I've always had great customer service experiences with Cornerstone Specialty Wood Products; this was even more impressive, particularly considering it was during the end-of-year holidays."

FAQs About ESD Coating

What is ESD Coating?

ESD coating is a type of coating applied to surfaces to reduce the build-up and discharge of static electricity and dissipate triboelectric charges. Static electricity can be a problem in many industries, including electronics manufacturing, where it can damage sensitive electronic components.

ESD coatings typically contain conductive materials that help to dissipate static charges. These coatings can be applied to various surfaces, including floors, walls, and equipment.

In addition to reducing the risk of damage to electronic components, ESD coatings can also help to improve worker safety. In environments where flammable materials are present, static electricity can create a spark that could ignite the materials. ESD coatings can help to prevent such incidents by dissipating static charges.

At Cornerstone Specialty Wood Products, we are ESD flooring manufacturers. We can help make sure that your ESD warehouse is well-equipped with electrostatic dissipative flooring.

Is ESD Protection Necessary?

ESD protection is necessary in many industries, particularly in those that involve sensitive electronic equipment, such as electronics manufacturing, data centers, and telecommunications. In fact, electrostatic discharge can damage electronic components, causing them to fail and potentially leading to costly downtime and repairs.

ESD protection can also be crucial for the safety of your workforce, especially in industries where flammable materials are present.

Therefore, it is important to invest in ESD protection measures, such as ESD flooring, to ensure the safety and reliability of electronic equipment and protect workers in the workplace.
